Long overdue update!

ColeMiller.jpg

Sorry I havent updated the victory but im typing with one hand here. As many of you know ,i fought on the UFC on versus 5 event on august 14th. Thanks to everyone for tuning into facebook for the live prelim fights! I won in the 2nd round after a competitive 1st round in which i broke my right hand. In the 2nd i dropped TJ o brien with a left hook and after delivering many leg kicks i grabbed a guillotine choke while locking a body triangle. After sweeping my opponent and landing in the mounted position , i was able to finish with a 1 armed guillotine choke. Thanks so much to American Top Team especially Master Katel, Parrumpinha, and Coach Kami for all their work they put into me. Thanks to my brother, Micah Miller, and Blake Bowman for being in my corner and the weeks training and taking care of me. Thanks to Seth and JC and all the crew at IHP for getting me in great shape as always. Thanks to Steve Montgomery, Dan Cramer, Ailton Barbosa, Ryan Thomas, and anyone else tallish at ATT that sparred with me to replicate my opponent.Additionally thanks to Malki,Dave, and Ricky at First Round management for getting me sponsors like Ecko unltd, LeMond Fitness, West Coast Authentics, and Beatdown. Special thanks to Shoyoroll for the continuous support in my game and Binh at Forty Thieves for keeping me in great training gear.

Right now im just concerned about getting healthy before issuing my drop to 145 , future opponents , or when ill fight again.

LeMond Fitness equipment

DSC02174.JPG

Id like to start off by saying thanks to Matt and everyone at LeMond Fitness for sponsoring me for my bout against TJ O' Brien on 8/14 on the UFC on Versus card. I was able to get my hands on the RevMaster Pro(spin bike) as well as the Revolution(indoor trainer) complete with the Power Pilot(computer). I have already tried both products and cant wait to see the gains in Aerobic conditioning they will help provide me.

First off let me begin by saying that these are top of the line products and even though they are not MMA specific they are able to benefit Pro MMA fighters, Multi sport athletes , as well as anyone looking to improve overall health and fitness.

check their full list of products out at http://www.lemondfitness.com to see which product(s) will help you most in getting in shape.

Here is a small list of reasons that these two products were perfect for my needs.

RevMaster Pro:
great warm up and cool down to start and end my days of hard fight specific training
Specific aid for aerobic conditioning
Overall fitness aid i can utilize both while in or in between training camps
Time saver(no worry about pumping tires, safety checks, etc.

Revolution(trainer)with Power Pilot: attatch your bike onto this product
weather will never prevent me from getting a ride in as sporadic showers are very common in south florida
Safety: no worry of paying attn and avoiding cars that dont pay attn to riders, dehydration,
Time saver: when in Triathlon or cycling race training, sometimes time is a factor but no more

TRT therapy

steroids1.jpg

Testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) seems to be the popular subject as of late. Heres my two cents. It's cheating. I dont care if ones test levels are normal, on the low end of normal, or just low as fuck for ones age/gender/activity levels. If you are a professional athlete, taking steroids, growth horomone, or testosterone should be either ILLEGAL, with HARSH PUNISHMENTS. or lets just make the shit legal. But placing athletes that are USING with athletes that aren't is an abomination. we should have a separate organization for these competitors ( Ultimate Juicing League for Fighters that Couldnt Do It Legitimately) i bet the ppv buys would be astonishing.

What makes Professional and Olympic level athletes special is the fact that they have something in them, that others dont. thats what makes that person a world champion, or an elite level athlete, whether it be a higher level of natural test/growth horomone production, A strong jaw, flexibility, punching power etc. Allowing other athletes to take "just a little" bit of this or that to get them in the proper ranges of "normal" is the stupidest fucking thing ive ever heard of. It's "OK" to inject athletes with things to level the playing field? When i get older and my body falls apart and i cant fight anymore...ill just stop fighting and move on with my life. These athletes are going to have to be hooked on this stuff for the rest of their lives to simply function, play with their children, get through the day because they USED and abUSED.

Today's Judging of MMA/UFC

DSC01680.JPG

Okay, this is something that has been brought up a lot lately in the world of the UFC/ MMA: Judging. I've been hearing "These UFC judges suck....bla bla bla." Let me start by saying that there is no such thing as a UFC referee, judge, or doctor. It wouldn't make much sense for a promotion, i.e. the UFC/Strikeforce to have control of judging, doctors, and referees in the sport. Judges, doctors, and referees are appointed by each State/Province's Athletic/gaming/boxing commission. So people shouldn't be blaming the UFC for bad calls made by these individuals. Complaining about how bad the judging is in the UFC/MMA over one's twitter, or on internet forums doesn't do anything about it. Instead we as fans should write/ email the athletic commissioners of the state that the event was held in and express our views as to the bad calls made by these certain judges or referees. If the event was held in one's own state, write the head of that commission and if MMA is still being run poorly , write to your state representative to get changes made.

Now, I suppose an argument one could make is "Why does the judging have to change Cole? If fighters should be finishing/ constantly working towards finishing fights, like you say they should, there shouldn't be a problem with having judges at all." Well this is why.

The UFC top 25 fighers from TUF

UFC.com just posted an article on the top 25 fighters from the Ultimate Fighter. I think it was pretty cool to be considered on this list. Thanks so much to the UFC for recognizing my capabilities. I'll be back soon and on the winning side. I'm hoping to fight by summer sometime.

http://www.ufc.com/news/The-TUF-25-Part-One

Post-TUF record: 6-3
An ultra-talented submission artist with a finisher’s mentality, Cole Miller always brings it to the Octagon, and he’s got the wins to prove it. Yet he also has the losses, with his biggest enemy at this point being inconsistency. If Miller can string together more than two consecutive victories together, it may push him over the hump and lead him to the next level in the viciously competitive 155-pound division.
DEFINING FIGHT – Wsub2 Ross Pearson
TUF TALK – “Every guy that was on The Ultimate Fighter 5 that’s still in the UFC immediately got fights with guys that were fighting on the pay-per-views and the fight nights. We didn’t come out and fight each other. I don’t think the guys from TUF5 have anything to prove and I really don’t think we’ve got a lot of naysayers.”
